2007 Camry Alternator Replacement 2AZ-FE Engine

    In this post we are going to see how a alternator is replaced on a 2007-2011 Toyota Camry with a 2AZ-FE engine.



    The first thing you will want to do is disconnect the battery at the negative side...

    You will then want to remove the side motor mounts and engine brackets all with 14mm bolts (do these steps only if you would like more room to work as this job can be performed without removing these items)....

    You will then want to take off the drive belt and this would be a good time to replace it if needed....

    You can just lay the belt to the side and not fully remove it.....

    Now it is time to disconnect the electrical wiring/harness/connectors....

    and the last step will be to remove the two bolts that hold the alternator to the engine, the 14mm bolt is up top with the 12mm bolt hidden below....

    Now you should be able to pry out the alternator and reverse the installation for the new one...
